Talking 99' Front Signals As DRLs

What's up T4R! I'm just trying to find out how I use my front turn signals as DRLs for my 3rd gen. I want them to be on when my parking lights and low beams are on and flash when needed. Sorta like the 4th gen. Do I need a relay or is it simple DIY wiring? Much help is appreciated.

Anthony

Used switchback LEDs and new sockets. Switchbacks got from vleds but they no longer carry the ones I have. You can find them on ebay for around $25. And then new sockets on ebay for less than $10. It's a 7443 size switchback and 7443 size sockets. The sockets have 3 wires. One ground. One blinker power. And one constant power once the ignition is turned on. You just splice the ground and blinker into the existing blinker wires and then run the other wire to a wire that gets power once the ignition is switched on.

There are two types of switchbacks. There are ones like I have in the video that the white turns off and then only blinks orange, and there are ones that alternate white and orange.

Not a big fan of autolumination, I've had LED's go out from everything I have bought from them but they have some

Thank you. I want them to be amber all the time (just like OP mentioned), so I think a dual intensity is the way I'm going to go. I guess I'm not exactly looking for DRL's - but rather parking lights. I'm going to grab the hot from the parking light. Did you use a relay for this?

No I didn't but I probably should have. I plan to use one and hook it up to the parking brake so that when the parking brake is up then they will turn off and then they turn on when I put it down.

I think @blizz86 did something more what you are looking for. Look at post #33
