Adding fog lights and switch

I just purchased a 2000 4Runner SR5 that does not have factory fog lights. I want to add these and upon inspection of the wiring, I noticed that the wiring harness that attaches to the front marker lights also had an open connection (white plug). Is this for fog lights power? Also, is there an open connection behind the dash for connection of a switch?

Thanks,

Carl

SB, can you put HIDs into the micro de housing? I know you probably can but would it be wise? I know that you can put HIDs into 500ff/700ff but you would be blinding oncoming traffic and cause accidents with that setup. Could the micro de with HIDs be safe enough to use in a city with traffic or would it blind them as well?

I'm thinking about getting new fogs as well; my driver side fog light burned out the other day. Should I get the new hella foglights, or just change out the bulbs in the stock foglights I already have? Would the hellas even fit in my limited? It says they are for SR5s....

yes you can fit hid's in these housings from what i have been told. the only issue is that they are not the best at draining out liquids, so every so often you have to open the housing and do it yourself. ive had them for about 2 years and never had any problems. and from what ive heard, they are much better quality than the stock lights. the only difference is that these use a different mounting bracket for the fogs, but that bracket comes in the kit

and it should fit a limited no problem

Just to clarify does that light come only with the circle projector lens or the amber/clear lens next to it as well?

Just the projector fog and mounting brackets come with the kit - the orange lens you're referring to is the turn signal. I noticed that you have a '97 (according to your signature) Just to let you know these Hella's that you are looking at are for '99+ models, and will have no real place to mount up

I see. What would be some good cheap fog/driving lights that HIDs would fit into? I'd like to use them in the city and not blind oncoming traffic. I like the idea of putting the fog lights into the grill like the poster above, this way you can aim them rather low and not blind traffic.

Advice on these lights?

See where the fogs are mounted in the lower grill in this picture? This is the OEM location for fog lights on pre fat lip bumper years (96-98). I think Hella 550's work in their location? Try searching for a lower valence with those holes already in them and then just find some 550's to fit in the holes.

Options Panels on dash (2000 SR5)

Does anyone know what options go on the 4 small dash panels to the left of the steering column? I assume one is for fog lights but what else is there? I have a 2000 SR5. Thanks!
