headlight question

Ok guys,
heres the deal, I bought some 2000 headlights from a guy
anyways, I get them and the buckets are trashed...

Shon Sands's Photos - broken headlights... | Facebook

he says
"The headlights themselves are in good working order. What you are speaking of, the buckets, can be removed and then you may use your original buckets from your truck"

now, is this true?? or are they too shot? and will my buckets from my 96 work with the headlights from the 2000?? will this work?
anyone know?
thanks,

Wow the buckets look bad, sry dude... but ya u should be able to use the old buckets bc the only thing that changed i believe from the new ones is the glass lens itself.

Yeah you can I had to when I was putting in my projectors.

Look at my attached picture the tabs circled in blue need are the only things from the new headlight buckets that you need.
It is a screw srilled into the lamp and clipped into the bucket with the tab. There are two more tabs on each bucket that are attached to those white adjustment nuts.
Those clip into the lamp itself.
Then there is a spring on each that hooks on. Those clips can be a PITA to un clip but you can do it.
A total of 4 mounting points all together

Thanks...

Under the blue circle on one of them the mount point was broken on the actual headlight..

I sent him a message last night about it, he refunded my money and I have shipped them back to him..

Yeah my old headlights and my new (used) headlights had that mounting point broken. The seller was not doing anything so I just kept it and rigged something to make it work.
