Rear window, rear defrost, rear wiper not working

you rear window is down but looks up

You're looking at your back window and convinced it is all the way up but it is not. So you may have to go to the keyhole on the hatchback and make it go down and back up....resets the memory so to speak.

The dead giveaway is all your back window functions are non functional, and the window being down is the reason.

Very common, glad no one yelled at you to search.

Agreed, or the wiring is fugged up in there. Take the interior panel off the hatch and have a look at it. To me it definitley sounds like your rear window is not going up 100% perfect. It happened to me, when my window would reach the top it would shift like half an inch, but none of my rear functions worked because of it.

there ya go! had me worried there for a day

check out my Facebook photo link if you want to see my rear spoiler painted to match my body color. Kind of ties that whole back end together to get rid of that flat black paint of the spoiler.

I have a 1999 4runner ltd. I tried all of the suggestions above and it didn't work for me. I've also taken apart the dash and checked the ohm/operation of the window/defrost switches. ok. Is the window limit control switch the micro switch in the tailgate by the window motor? Are there any tests/electrically that I can do with jumper wires? I don't have a schematic and I don't want to let the smoke out of anything.

Stupid question, but did you check if you hit the window lock button on your drivers side? I know that got me one day, it will disable pretty much everything but your driver window

Not any more. Check for a break in the wires between the back door and the vehicle where the harness goes between the two. Not unusual.

Thanks for the schematics!! I gonna check for broken wires. Makes sense with the checks I've done. I will check for power first. Thanks for the help, I'll let you know when I get a chance to work on it again. thanks again
