UPDATE 3/28 Lignum's build thread: 2000 Sport

I haven't been on this forum for all that long but since I joined when I bought my 07 it motivated me to buy a 3rd gen and start modifying it. I decided to start a build thread like the other guys so I can just track my progress on here and not have to spam the forum with lots of threads everytime I do something.

So I bought the truck this February and did the deck plate mod a few weeks later.

After that I ordered a Toytec Ultimate 3" lift with the 600lb springs in the front and the 890s in the back and a 1" body lift.

I started the 1" body lift first.

Then the Toytec went on.

Then the TRD sticker.

I just got a Full Bore muffler (poor man's flowmaster). Video to come. I think it sounds good.

Soon I will get wheels and tires, and interior LED mods, tint, and I will probably end up blacking everything out...

Nice ride Lignum,
I have a question for you about the lift. I've been researching as much info as possible lately on the same lift (without the BL) and came across something that I'm a little confused about. Did you extend or get an adjustable panhard bar with the 3" lift? I've been reading threads and it seem like anyone that has a 3"+ lift should have/get it done but not quite sure. Thanks and nice truck man!

Thanks man!

I had the exact same question! I asked Darrick with Toytec if they recomment it and he said:

"No, not really, otherwise we would probably carry them.
We do sell a pan hard drop bracket for the bar, but no bar's themselves."

And after consulting with the forum everyone seems to think it is not really nessisary just a personal preference.

This is where I asked every one about panhard bars if you want to read through the thread. Lift/tire combo questions, comments, concerns?

That is a gorgeous truck . How do you like it compared to your 07? I've always been partial to the gen 3 only and finally got one thus week, couldn't be happier. Let the modding begin

I wish my 3rd gen had the engine and tranny that my 07 does, it is so much more powerful and quicker too! It is slightly more comfortable too. But I do love my 2000.

How do you adjust the height of it? Is it easy? I know in a thread i posted you said you have to get an alignment each time you adjust it. In the pics is it as high as it goes? 3 1/2 inches right? Sorry for all the questions i'm just really excited to get one!

I haven't tried to adjust it yet, it comes from Toytec set at 3". The kit comes with 2 spanner wrenches to adjust it. Some have said it takes two people to adjust it, one to hold one wrench still and the other to turn. I am going to lower it a little in the front so I will let you know.

It will adjust higher than 3" but with the 3rd gen IFS you will tear things up if you try to go higher than 3" due to the extreme angle you will put on the CV joints.

I will try to answer any questions you have.

Thanks! The back is not adjustable, just the front.

so how much will you lower the front? Just enough to level it out?

Ya just a little, it looks like the front is a little too high from the side.

Update: I posted a video for you all to see (and hear) a few things. I blacked out the tail lights and had a Full Bore flowmaster knock off muffler installed.

The tail lights are painted with the rustoleum version of nightshades, I found it very hard to keep a consistent coat.

The exhaust sounds ok, let me know what you think.

Also I finally opened my box from spidertrax......and realized I only got 2 spacers.....sigh.....so I threw them on the back today.
