zero point calibration needed?

I've read in these forums where if the vsc and check engine lights come on that the above needs to be performed. I'm trying to do this but my connector doesn't have a pin 14. I have wires in pins 4,5,7,16,15. Nothing in 14.

This is an '02 4runner sport edition. Does anyone have any advice??

Thanks,
Rut

Here's some more info: 01-02 4Runner How to Zero Point Calibrate your VSC system. - YotaTech Forums

I've done this on my '02 and it took only a couple mins.

I saw that but my plug doesn't look like this. It looks more like the 2003 model's plug but the wires aren't in the same place.

Are you looking at the correct plug port? This port is above and to the right of the oil cap. In Fog's thread, there is no mention of pin numbers like you're describing?? Only pins E1 and TS are mentioned. They are pictured below:

Oops! I was so concentrated on the plug under the steering column that I didn't get that it was under the hood!

I'll check that out.

Thanks.

Have you tried this one too - https://mike-thomson.com/blog/?p=1143? He mentions some addt'l steps towards the end of the article.

I've not done this calibration in 5yrs, but the directions were spot on for my use. Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm assuming your 4Runner is not throwing a code is it?

Damn, just read this post 7/5/15 & this morning, 7/6/15, about 5min into my drive to work, my check engine light came on along with my "vsc off" & "vsc/trac" light.

I followed the mike-thompson link after work and I was able to get everything to turn off. But when I cranked up my engine to do a test drive, my "CEL", "vsc off" & "vsc/trac" lights came back on within 1-2minutes of starting the engine. Went through the same process several times with the same results. Didn't have my obd ll scanner handy to run the cel codes.

My ABS light was also flashing along with the vsc/track light. Unfortunately I am in a similar situation looking for a solution. Keep me updated if you come up with anything.

NO CEL for me....
@fourfive i believe when the CEL goes on and the VSC and TRAC OFF lights go on its either charcoal canister.... loose gas cap or 02 sensors.....

for me mine came on after an alignment,,,,

Appreciate the feedback. The gas cap was secured with several clicks and seems to be on there pretty snug. The seals on the gas cap also look to be in good shape so I will rule that out for now.

I am going to run the cel codes once I get a hold of my obd ll scan tool.

Have you made any progress with your VSC/TRA lights?
