aluminum skid plate

I got my hands on a tundra/sequoia skid plate that has 6 slots like the picture below. I was wondering if anyone knows how to mount it or where to get brackets for them. Are they the same size as the Tacoma skids (Same design) Because I looked under and it's not a simple bolt without the brackets. I believe RonMaiden has this on his 4runner highlander. Thanks for any help in advance!

So you don't have the brackets? You can either make them or buy them. They should be the same ones as the Tacoma.

With the Tacoma brackets you will need to fab up some 3" extending brackets so it will fit the fatlips bumper;the pre '99s don't need 'em.

nope no brackets. Do you know where I can buy them or where I can find dimensions on them if I were able to make them?

Forgot to say thanks to clemson.

ronmaiden, any pictures of your brackets? I could use an illustration to see what i gotta do. I really like the look of your 4runner! Are those wheeling pictures with stock suspension? I don't remember reading about a lift for your ride.

Stock Tacoma Bracket

My Modified Bracket

How the skid plate sits....

I wanted mine to sit as tucked as possible, and will soon be finishing up the steel replacement version of it, and selling off the aluminum one. If you can't order the Taco brackets, and don't want to make your own, drop me a PM, i'm sure we can work something out.

Hey RonMAIDEN., I just picked up a brand new 04 Sequoia Skid plate for my 4Runner with brackets. How can I get it to fit a pre-fat lip Runner?

Just an update. Was able to fit the Sequoia/Tundra 04’ Skid plate onto the 4Runner. On the 96-2002 years, seems to fit okay if anyone else was interested in adding it on. There wasn’t much information on the internet about it, so I figured I’d contribute to helping others with this info. A body shop was able to put it on. So not just Tacoma’s will work. The design is almost the same and saved some cash. The Dealer wanted nearly $400 for the original 02’ Sport Edition Skid plate that fits the 4Runner. This one only costed $132. A better value imho
