Recommendations on a winch are appreciated.

You cant go wrong with a Warn winch for the money.

But the Smittybuilt XRC-8 is a great winch for only $300. I have one, and I know a lot of guys in the off road community use one.

I have had my Smittybuilt XRC-8 for several years. No problems what so ever.

Just to clarify, I have mine mounted on a receiver hitch tube, so it is only out in the weather when I wheel. Otherwise it sits in the garage.
