Will this KOYO radiator work as an OEM radiator as far

as cooling the AT fluid. In other words, do I also need an trans cooler if I use this part?

I thought not, but I ran across this post in which some guy claimed that you would need a trans cooler. See below.

i cannot see the pic in the link, but if that is a koyo aluminum radiator, that is a hell of a deal. but with that radiator, you must run an aftermarket tranny cooler for sure. i used to run koyo radiators in my rx7s. very high quality. i would recommend that radiator for that price.

That will work fine, You can see the inlet and outlet for the ATF on the bottom of the rad.

It's not what you are picturing. Koyo's high performance radiators are ALL aluminum...probably what you used in your RX7's. This Koyo in the link for $137 is a stock replacement with plastic end tanks. A very good radiator if I do say so. No way Koyo ever sells an all aluminum race unit for $137. lol

And like already mentioned, it does have the ATF cooler built into it, just like an OEM Toyota radiator. You would not need an external cooler, but if it was me, I'd probably run one anyway.

can we do any better on price than that?

Setting this up for replacement for my friends 01 Limited for Sunday June 27 here in Denver for our 3rd gen maintenance day.

Can we do any better on price than that link? That seems a fine price considering an OEM one is $400ish...

I doubt you will find better for that price. Personally, I would try to find a Koyo retailer in your area and see what their price is in comparison. If any issue does arise on such a vital component, it may be easier to rectify in person. Sometimes saving $20 at purchase doesnt save you hassle in the end.
Don't get me wrong, I love online savings!

not bad advice at all 4 Runner DNA

but the local guys here are nowhere near this price. Tax alone is a 8% savings.

Point well taken however.
