Wow looks like you've been busy! Looks really nice, how much did the jaos spoiler and sport hood run you? Your rig has turned into one of my favorites, any plans to tint the rear tail lights?

Thanks...Jason Burtman sells the rear spoilers for $277 shipped but If you order 5 of them like I did, he'll surely give you a better deal. 5 Runners run in the family. The Sport hood including the attachments and painting all under $500 CAD.

awesome looking rig. is your scooped hood oem or aftermarket? where did you get it from?
i'm also curious about your underbody/wheelwell coating. how did you go about that and how's it holding up?

Great updates!! This may seem funny, but I actually liked the chrome center part of your rear bumper. I thought it looked slick with the black end caps and chrome center...it was unique and it helped tie the wheels and trim together. Black looks good too though.

There's a closeby landfill filled with different terrains here in North Van, and really that's mostly where I go and get the truck all dirty, can't wait for the rainy season though...I'd probably leave the truck muddied up most of the time. Park it anywhere without a care what people say.

The hood I got from an aftermarket retailer..pretty cheap compared to OEM and it's a perfect fit too..no problem..The wheelwell/underbody coating really is just a spray type of rust paint-inhibitor with lots of promises on the label. Clean as much a you can then spray your Rustoleum--Yep that's the brand I used and it's holdin' up pretty well.

At first when I looked at the all-black rear bumpers..I thought I might have made an already alright looking rear-end to a boring one...But it's growing on me and I'm liking what I'm seeing..I think either way I couldn't go wrong..Yeah It's quite abit of an upgrade all at once but..eventually I'll end up getting all them anyways.

Out of the 5 3rd gens we have in the family, a 97, 98, 99, 99 and an 02, I was the only one left without one...well I've waited long enough I think..

The rims weren't much to look at when I first got 'em, they were pitted and rusty, I've always liked the way star studs look, let alone star studded rims with deep lips..no matter what I was determined to make 'em go on my truck..Come to think of it..my rig might actually be the only one with these on. Toyo MT's were my first choice but I couldn't wait a 2-month back order. Maybe next time.
Thanks everyone...

I know it was one of the first mods you did, but where did you find your grille insert? Any chance you can post a link for me?

I'm not quite clear on which insert you meant but if it's the 2001-2002 grille then I bought it at a local auto body parts retailer where I got my sport hood as well..They're in the Greater Vancouver area only though called A.P.T. http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source...62BAhw&cad=rja
If it's the mesh for doing the Satoshi mod, best place is to go to an import tuner store, it's a popular item when replacing bumpers with a bodykit with large air dams...Hope this helps..good luck on your build.

Just a few updated shots from my recent trail ride on the way back from Tricouni Meadows in Squamish, BC...Didn't quite get there due to miles and miles of rough road plus the remoteness of the area renders GPS useless. Although it suits the look for an off road vehicle looking all dirty, it's time I cleaned her up.

Oh Canada. I wish I lived there. So beautiful, and so....un-populated with people and their trash.
How's the truck ride when you're doing 65mph (or whatever that is in kilometers) on the highway?
