First set of changes...
I got a few hours of free time this afternoon and made a few quick changes to the new 4Runner.
First, I removed the sheepskin seatcovers. I won't be using these anymore so if anyone is interested in purchasing them, shoot me a PM. They are in good condition.
With seatcovers...
And without... They were just too hot for me, it's gonna be 98 degrees tommorrow!
I removed the crossbars from the roof rack (the ones that sit right on the paint) for easier washing of the roof. No pics, you all know what those look like.
Finally, I pulled off the running boards. I actually thought they looked ok on the truck, but I like it better without.
Finally... the stable, with my 3 trusty steeds all tucked in for the night.

I used to have mixed feelings about removing the running boards . I think I'm going to pull mine this week as yours does look good without them . I have the LTD flares as well .
That's a nice looking truck you have there !

Nice. TRD headers and exhaust and a high flow cat. I'm sure it sounds sweet.
Don't forget to add all the exhaust goodies to your HP calcs. I'm sure you are pushing an extra 10 at the wheels.

Very nice truck and I'd like to find a similar deal just to keep for on the street and retire my '99 to weekends.

Just a little update...
A full set of WeatherTech Digital Fit Floor Liners should be arriving any day now. I went with black to offset the grey on the interior.
Also, I placed the order earlier today for the best part!!! A Sonoran Steel 1.2 kit is now on order and should be arriving in about a month.
Expect plenty of pics to follow. I think I may have to start a build thread for this thing.

I dropped in the WeatherTech Digital Fit Floor Liners today. I went with the black ones to compliment the other black trim on the interior. I considered the gray, but I think the black makes the interior "POP" a bit more, so I went that route.
I own a full set of Husky Liners as well, in my 1997 Runner, and I have to say I like certain things about each of them. The Husky's have a bigger lip, and seem like they will retain fluids better than the WeatherTechs, but the WT's are hands down a better fit for the vehicle, and feel like they are made of higher quality materials. I need to put some miles on the WT's before I can really say which one I like better.

I just got an 02 with I guess some sort of a sport package. Not sure. It has the rare 5 spoke wheels different from the ones you have. It has the big skid plate underneath but no hood scoop which is fine with me. Mine is equally clean underneath as it was owned in New Mexico since new and only just came to Dallas. Like you I am definitely more confident upgrading this one over my 93 sr5 because it is just a much more solid platform from what I can tell just comparing the two.

Sounds like you have a standard '02 SR5 or Limited. The 5 spoke wheels are standard for the later years of 3rd gens. The skid plate is probably a Tacoma skid. No hood scoop = no sport model. Post some pics and we'll tell you what you have.

Just a quick update... the Sonoran Steel 1.2 Lift has arrived and will be going on as soon as I have some time to work on it.
The goodies... (and NO, I didn't get a spacer lift, that's just the box they shipped all the small parts in... the sway bar brackets, diff drop, bump stops, etc... ) Shocks are in the back, panhard bar on the right, spring perches, brake lines, etc.
One of the tundra's....
And one of the LC's....
All of them still wearing their Toyota tags.
I also got the Lotek Pillar pod and the tranny temp guage. The guage pod is going to hold a wideband A/F ratio guage and a boost guage so I can keep a close eye on the Supercharger, and the tranny temp guage is going in the open spot in front of the shifters on the left side below the center console.
Finally, I got the parts for the rear diff breather extension, and some switches to hook up the AndyMod.
And a couple of Supercharger belts, just in case...
I'll update again once I get this stuff installled. Hopefully the tires will be on by then as well, maybe along with some wheels.

Decisions, decisions....
I got to playing with a photo of my 4Runner in MS Paint (who needs photoshop?), and put together a few photos to give me an idea of what it would look like with the color scheme I have envisioned for it. I edited the photo progressively to see what it would look like in stages. Right now the front/rear bumpers and fender flares are Rhino-Lined and color matched to the rest of the vehicle. I'm thinking of getting the color changed to black for the flares and rear bumper, and getting an ARB or equivalent for the front.
As it sits right now....
With fender flares re-done in black...
Now do the rear bumper too...
And add an ARB front bumper...with black rear bumper...

I love this vehicle. Having a northern 2001 with bumper rust, I'd take yours in a heartbeat, with that Rhino stuff and everything.

I'd leave the body alone for the most part and avoid the rhino liner and just go with better armor (bumpers and sliders) if your going to take it off road but it looks in such good shape it would be a shame to mess with the paint.
I'd first get it lifted and get better tires, then sliders.

+1
The color scheme is so slick and clean already.

Thanks for the input guys. I have a Sonoran Steel 1.2 Lift sitting on my kitchen floor, I've just been so tied up with work and other things that I haven't had a chance to get it on the vehicle. Hopefully I can start on it tomorrow and get it finished up by early next week.
RE the tires, I keep going back and forth between 265/75 Duratracs w/the stock wheels (to avoid clearance issues w/the A-arms), and 285/75's with aftermarket wheels. I don't want to use spacers because I don't want to have issues with tire shops not wanting to work on it. Also, I'm hesitant to go with 265/75's because I think they'd look a bit small with the SS 1.2. Then I get to thinking about wheels, and I don't want to do black because it's become so trendy, but on the other hand it looks so good. Anyway, decisions decisions.
