Bucking at low speeds?

Recently I have noticed something new with my 4runner. When I first start it up and get going the truck kinda bucks for a little while until I get going. It kinda feels like I am driving over a bunch of ruts, but its just smooth pavement. Once I get over 10 MPH it stops and gets smooth. Anyone have any ideas of what this could be? I am thinking its transmission related.

Thanks

How does the engine sound before you put it in gear, does it have a miss? Are you 5 speed or auto?

How does the tranny fluid look? Is it Low? Dirty? Does it smell burnt? Maybe you just need a tranny fluid/filter change or maybe even a full flush.

Mine does that too. Only first thing in the morning, after sitting all night. Same for you? I'm thinking flat spots on the tires from sitting all night. Then as you get rolling it smooths back out. Kinda like old bias ply tires used to do...

Yea same for me, but if I leave it in a parking lot for a couple hours it dosent do it. I guess that could be it, but its kinda weird how it would just start up all of a sudden, it never did it before. Is there any reason that would happen?

Thanks

Right, only when the tires are totally cold. Why it just started? Who knows. Maybe the tires are just getting older. Mine has done it since I bought it. Some day when I have money, I'll lift it and get different tires and see if it still does it.

Yea I dunno, it kinda feels like the tires have a flat spot and just as they roll it smooths out. I guess I will just have to see what happens!

Firestone Destination A/T's I have less than 5k miles on them. But I abuse the hell out of them and have about 25% tread left!

It seems to be getting worse happens almost all the time I slow down to idle now. The engine stutters, it has trouble staying on. What could be the cause of this?

So much for the cheap easy fix... (tires) I agree, sounds like a tune up type issue.
