Ok. Just didn't want you guys to hate me for wrong info.
I know I'm sorta new here. Bought my 01 4runner a few months ago after Toyota bought back my Taco.

I try to help here when I could. Been turning wrenchs in a garage for 4-5 years. So I've had my fair share of f**k-ups.

I have the same button, but mines on the top right side of the shifter. I try to press it and move it, but nothing happens. At least I know what it's there for now even though it won't budge

Wow, Mine is missing too. Doe's this part come off easy? I don't want to buy it and then it'll pop off while driving the Runner.

It snapped in pretty solidly. Seems to hold pretty well.

I could see though if you were pulling your console apart, if things got torqued the wrong way it could cause it to pop out.

Id say as long as you dont F' with it, it wont come out.
