I think it would be better just to replace the whole half shaft correct? and both sides not just one?

Looks like o'rielys has them in stock down here. I'll see if i can grab them tomorrow. You sure you don't mind helping with the install? PM me your rates lol. And you've got all the tools in albany?
Also, let me know if you have any rear spacers or trim packers. I might buy those if ya have them.

I'm sure it's the CV boot. That's not oil, it's grease.

Yup just a cv. Mine did it last week and I've been 4-wheelin with no trouble so far. I've already replaced driver's side (Advance Auto $70) so I'll just be replacing this one too. I'll be getting it for free since the new one came with lifetime warranty. Just give them the old busted factory one, my buddy behind the counter will take care of it. Word to the wise, get in good with the parts store folks, I've saved a LOT!

Don't worry about it, it's nothing else, nor is it uncommon or even time sensitive. My stock CVs did that right after I put my first lift on, same color grease. I put hose clamps over the stock clamps and that worked for about 2 months, then the boots shredded and I duct-taped them up and I drove it like that for another 8 months or so through an entire winter using 4wd most of the time. Take Elton up on his offer and I recommend the CVs with free lifetime replacement from NAPA.

Picked up a set of new ones this morning at O'riely's (Shucks) for $140 for the pair, no core deposit. Lifetime warranty

Can't go wrong with lifetime warranty! Good luck, it shouldn't take long. Nice trick I found with CV's is knocking them out of the hub with an air hammer. They end up sliding right out, even the ones that have been beaten with a 5lb hammer for 30 min straight and wouldn't budge. But if no air compressor then I'd suggest PB Blaster.
