I just bought a 1999 SR5 4x4 4runner. The previous owner did not have the keyless fob, and the alarm has occasionally gone off. Pushing in the clutch pedal all the way allowed me to start it without a problem. However, I stalled it out coming into the neighborhood the other day, and have had issues ever since. I called a locksmith to come out and program a fob that I have from another 4runner. He wasn't able to program it. The alarm intermittently going off caused the battery to lose its charge. I jump started the vehicle with success, but the battery didn't hold a charge when I tried to start it again. Today I bought a new battery and still can't get it to start. The horn has been disabled, but I hear a very fast repetitive clicking sound and the security light flashes very fast. The clicking is loudest in the fuse box under the hood. Is there an easy way to disable the alarm or is there a common fix for this problem? Thank you guys for any help you can give.
