Keyless remote stopped working

Changed battery still doesn't work. Suggestions? Stopped working last night after the UNR vs Boise State game, it was about 20 degrees, burrrr!

I've had this happen too. You have to reprogram the key fob. My guess is that cold weather quickly drains the battery to the point that the memory is lost.

Another possibility is what happened to mine. About eight years in (maybe three years ago) my main fob stopped working. I switched to the other and after maybe eighteen months, it quit, too. The problem I found was the spring contacts holding the battery tight had lost their tension. I just bent them inwards and they both came back to life. I would think cold weather could make this kind of problem worse. Anyway, easy to do and worth a try.

Hey...really bringing back on old thread, but I did what you said and bent back the contacts and my two remotes that have been inconsistent and pissing me off for several months, are now fully operational. Made my evening. Thanks!!

Good to hear. It's now 2014 and problem has not come back on either one so it is a pretty durable fix--seven years anyway.
