Rear cupholders

My 4 year old has been hard on my 98's rear cupholders. I heard that the rear cupholder part from an 03+ Corolla will fit and it looks slightly better built. Has anyone done this and is the oak color from the Corolla a match?

Also, is the 99+ 4Runner rear cup holder any different than the 96-98?

Never seen a corolla center console swap, but I did the 99+ console swap for my 98 4runner and it was easy. Plus you get a nice lil "secret" compartment. To be honest I don't think the corolla console will fit because it most 4runners have a rear heater.

I'm not referring to the 99+ center console swap. I'm just talking about trying to replace the rear cupholders in my factory center console. I think the 99 and ups have an upgraded rear cup holder that will work in my 98 console. Can anyone confirm?

Sorry misread your post. I don't know anything about that corolla part have you checked the local junkyard?

Rear cupholders are identical from 96-02.

I have also been wondering this as I too read that rumor somewhere. I haven't been very motivated to replace the broken piece as I don't sit in the backseat all that often.
