I have 2000 4 runner 4x4 LTD with 256K miles on it. I bought it 4 yrs ago with 135K. Since then I replaced the timing belt @ 210K and done brakes a few times but aside from that nothing.
I just ordered a 2.5 in Daystar suspension spacer lift kit and figure this is as good a time as any to replace front and rear shocks/struts. I purchased Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks for the rear from Pep Boys on Black Friday bc I got 25% off.
My question is has anyone had experience with the Monroe Quick-Struts?
Monroe Quick-Strut - The Professional's Choice for Strut Replacement
I don't really notice that my shocks/struts are failing. I just know they have a minimum of 120K on them, and if I'm going to be installing the spacer kit I might as well change them out.
Do you think I could get by with only new shocks/struts on front keep the original coil spring. There is only about a $40 difference is the price, and I kind of think that $ is worth having a new coil spring and not having to rent a tool to compress the existing spring when installing the spacers.
Also while I got you hear when is a good time to change spark plugs/wires? I know a general rule is 100K miles but I tend to wait quite a bit longer.
Thanks-
