I've been lurking for quite a while, but never posted. After replacing my clutch pedal bushing with flawless instruction from T4R.org I now recognize the power of knowledge here.
My question is:
I want a factory keyless entry system for my 4Runner. I don't have the RS3000/RS3200 or any other system installed. I don't want the alarm, just the keyless.
1996 4Runner
SR5 (power options, i.e. actuators from factory)
V6
4x4
I've installed aftermarket systems before (i.e. Viper, etc), but I want the factory system found on 99 (?) and newer 4Runners with the button to roll down the rear window.
Is this possible? Where can I purchase this system?
I know that Viper and other systems are likely better, I am just fixed on getting the OEM remote system if possible.
It is not possible to get the 99 and later system. You can get a 96-98 rs3000 system, but you will have to find the harness that they use to install the system at a junkyard as Toyota doesnt sell the kit anymore. Any rs3000 brain from any toyota of similar years will work.
