Weird Problem today with my 4Runner today.

So I got back into my car after a long day of work and i tried rolling down my windows and only the drivers side would roll down. Tried the back window and that didnt work. Ive also noticed that one of my brake lights went out that I just replace 3 weeks ago. Ever since Ive had the car I noticed a weird clicking noise coming from the passenger side, seems to be where the passengers put there feet. Ive got no clue what the weird clicking noise is. Its not too loud kinda sounds like the clicking of a pen seems to happen every 10-30 seconds I believe depending how I drive. I have a feeling the windows was just a fuuse but it was kinda weird how the drivers side still worked. You think I can possibly have a short? I havent checked any fuses yet cause it was too late when I got home and I just wanted to shower and relax. But wanted to post this too night to see if anyone would possibly be able to help me. Its a 2000 SR5 5sp highlander model lemme know if you guys might know where to start looking.

The clicking sound is probably a relay somewhere. But up under the dash near the passenger's feet? Dunno about that.

Are you using LED bulbs for your brake and/or reverse lights? I put some in mine and they worked without issue for about a year, and then all of the sudden I had some really strange things start happening. Just a shot in the dark, but when I pulled the LED bulbs in the back all those strange things went away.

I had a clicking noise from that area too. It was the power antenna going up and down constantly. I took it out and replaced it with a 13'' rubber antenna. No more click noise.

Sounds like you got a Hurricane survivor. Everything you described with weird electrical problems is common in cars that were under water. How long have you had her?

That's the sound of a relay. I bet all your issues are on that circuit. Get your multimeter and a test light out. Before I would do anything just look up what all is on that relays circuit and that tells you the answer pretty easily. The relay can still be bad even if it's clicking so pull it out and test it with the tools I mentioned. You can also check the entire circuit for shorts or bad grounds. Look it up it's basic. Don't get screwed by a mechanic.
