Glad to help! All these part #s and superceded part #s are pretty confusing. I'm glad Randy's was able to sort it out for you, they're a good shop.

Was reading this thread and had a question. If you have front/read Trutrac LSD is the center diff lock and the ability to drive in AWD mode still available (01 4R auto). Anything you need to do differently in terms of using the 4WD system in general (center lock, 4H and 4L)?
Thanks

A TrueTrac up front will have no affect on how you use the multi-mode 4WD system. Use it as you would now, you'll just have more traction. In any mode other than 2WD, the steering will feel a little tighter, but that's ok, it's just the LSD getting more traction.

Yeah the rear you won't feel, but the front one you will feel in the steering wheel. It feels like you're on 10psi in the front tires. It takes a little getting used to, you can't let the steering wheel slide through your hands coming out of a turn because it immediately wants to jerk straight. You're gonna need to actively control it a little more, but it's totally worth it.

Thanks guys for the responses. I may be picking up a 4R that has them already installed and just wanted to make sure what I was getting into and really wanted to make sure the center lock was still usuable.

Not to drag up an old thread, but I have a 1999 4cyl Tacoma with the 7.5 HP front diff. It also has ADD. I'm confused on what Truetrac I can use in this diff.

You can use either, but the 644 will require a bearing kit for the smaller axles your truck has. The 445 should be a direct fit.

So how do I know what axles I have? If I recall correctly, the ADD diff uses heavier duty axles.

So if you're worried about it, buy the 644. It will fit either set.

I'm gonna do some more research on this. Also, for the people who are using the Truetrac, are you guys using it in the ADD diff?

911A644 / 911A342 Rumors
I’d like to revive an old thread.
Anybody running the Eaton Detroit True Trac part numbers 911A342 or 911A644 have any recent problems with the CV axles pulling out? I have read about the rumors on other threads. I'd like to see if anybody has any recent (2020) first hand experience with them.
I am trying to put this into a front diff that I pulled from a 2000 limited 4runner. I recently pulled an e-locker with a 4.3 ratio and the matching front diff. I was thinking about putting an LSD into the front before swapping it out.
Thanks!
