See Ive heard from a few people now that the 2nd gen seats are waaaay more comfortable than the 3rd gen ones.
So, I figured I would poll everyone and find out!

I used to have a 2nd gen and I prefer the 3rd gen seats. I will say though that the lumbar in my 2nd gen was better.

I feel it depends on the 2nd gen. My seats are the bottom of the line for the 2nd gens and they aren't bad, but there are some that are much more comfortable. They have the seat adjuster and much better padding.

I've pretty much tried every Toyota seat imaginable in all kinds of rigs. My Favs are the SR5 seats from 87-89 1st gen 4runners. Hands down the most comfortable.
These:
A close 2nd would be the SR5 seats in 2nd gen 4runners.
These:
3rd would be ours. They are just firmer seats and not nearly as much padding as the earlier models. They are still okay, but are harder on me after a full day in them than the earlier models.

I work on Monday, Tues, was gonna TRY and make it up tomorrow, I probably have Jayden though and not sure how much space or if I want to take a long trip with him tomorrow.
I definitely will try and get those 3rd gen seats regardless cuz if I dont want them then FoneRunner wants em..
I called yesterday and they would neither confirm nor deny their existence in the yard..
If I do head up there, I will definitely stop by. gotta show you the cargo drawer/sleeping platform
