Stuck in Mud, New tractor sound.

I finally got dirty for the first time with the runner this weekend..

Got stuck i a mud hole up to me headlights...lol

After rocking and a tow my truck started to sound a little bit like a tractor under load. I also noticed my transfer case is starting to leak from the center....hope thats not bad...lol

It doesn't look like the pipe got hit but I think the revs might have cause a manifold leak..

Has anybody put on headers? will they screw up anything?

I found this old listing... TRD would be nice but they are expensive....

For your sake, I hope it's a manifold leak. The only other thing that makes it sound like a diesel is a spun bearing.

That said, exhaust manifold or header install on these 3.4's is actually a PITA. Which is sad, but that's how it is.

spun bearing? Which one?

I am pretty sure its exhaust.. I've heard manifold leaks before... sounds like a chugging tractor... not hearing any mechanical hitting noises.

Rod bearing would be the most likely if it was a bearing. Getting a little water into the engine, and then into the oil...that's a good way to spin bearings. Which is why I mentioned it...since you were stuck in it pretty deep by the sounds of things.

I couldn't tell if you were describing it as a "clatter" or a "chug". You're the one listening to it, so if you think exhaust, then that's where to start.
