Is it thick enough , what should I do with it.
Just got a 5x5 sheet of .25 , 6061 alum. For free, question is , is it thick enough to make a skid and if not what should I make with it

Stand it upright on the roof and having the .25 parralel with the driveshaft, and sell the space on the sides as advertising, Warning it may be a rather unstable ride, but it will help pay for real skid plates.

I'm more worried about wasting the material if it's going to get crunched first time out the material could be better used for something else , any ideas ?
What's the standard thickness for skids made from a-36 ? Is what I'm looking for , and if the material I have is too thin.can you guys suggest some mounts or something to make

Don't know how expensive the BudBuilt skids are, but that plate of aluminum is worth at least $400. You could probably sell the aluminum and buy steel (or Bud's) and have a little cash left over.
And the title of your thread sounds like the name of a chapter in Hugh Hefner's autobiography. Next week I'll be posting "Great New Rack on my Princess!" when in reality I'm just talking about the new steering on my 4Runner.

Lol I wonder what the mods would say if the first 3 pages of the forum had thread titles like that ..haha
Yeah that's the thing I got it from the scrap bin at work and while they don't mind you taking stuff like that if you ask they will get mad if you take it just to hock it you know , so I couldn't do that in good faith right ...
So yeah I got to make something from it , and I can't use it for a finish piece as it's got a few small holes here and there so I was thinking skids or brackets or something
