Irs mod
I added the IRS MOD yesterday, I'm not sure why I waited so long, thanks to the detailed posts, it took me about and an hour and a half, which includes the $10 stop at a local muffler shop. Sounds better, looks better..
Question is paint it black or clear, I kinda like the metal look

My vote is to go with what is going to make you happier! Sounds like it's the clear. The only thing is that I'd say it's a good idea to use high heat paint on it since it's in the engine bay. Not sure they make that in clear.

Dirty engine
Hey Hepar,
Notice the dirty engine? I'm going to clean it before the big tear down, waiting on better weather for the timing belt/SC project

Is that better weather gonna be there before the 15th-ish? Otherwise I'm coming through Reno, breaking into your garage and taking it!

I did mine this past weekend also. I painted mine with wheel spray paint that I'd picked up to respray one of my center caps with. It kept it close to that metal look but added some rustproofing and some shine to it as well as some heat protection.
BTW: Awesome truck man, one of the nicest looking rigs on here.
What color is your wheelskin? Is that a graphite or something, or is it black and just a funny angle?

Thanks for the props
Wheelskin's black, love the feel, if you get one, take your time and you'll like the outcome

Stubbs HD-SKO slidders
I drove up to Susanville this morning and had Richard Stubb's weld on my slidders, great guy, promised that he'd have them painted and ready to install when I got there, two hours later I'm rolling down the highway with a smile on my face, plus added bonus, I got two hours of local 4x4 info, I can't wait for summer....Rubicon trail anyone?...Richard said my rig would make it no problem, as long as it's late in the season and the trail's been "stacked" learned something new today...unfortunately he started talking about "lockers", the mod list just got a little longer

I really like the way the paint tuned out, I kinda wish I painted the bumper instead of PC but I got a deal ($60) so I couldn't resist
