Couple of questions

Hi, im new to this site and just recently bought a 2000 4runner limited at a dealer. I have the owners manual but not the maintenance schedule booklet or the owners manual supplement booklet. Any ideas where to get these?

Also it only came with one key. The book says only the dealer can make a new one but you have to have the tag with the code on it which I dont have. My local hardware store says they can make one and they dont need the code. I guess they have a machine to read it or something. Anyone know if that would work or could it mess up the security system?

also I saw an ad on here for a Gforce performance chip that says it improves horsepower and gas mileage. anyone try it? does it work?

thanks for any input

Hold on are you talking about a key for the door and engine or you talking the alarm remote. If your talking about the key I got 4 made at homedepot and they unlock everything. Sounds like its another way for the dealer to bend your over. hope that helps

the key for the door/engine. tried home depot, they said they couldnt make one since it has the chip in it. I did get a regular spare that will open only the doors but im looking to get a spare ignition key.

Ok, got a spare key made. I deliver oil for a living and happened to be at a Toyota dealer yesterday. The guys in the parts dept hooked me up with a key at their cost ($34) and one of the mechanics offered to program it for me for free.
