Did this upgrade, highly highly recommended. Nice, linear, clean stops. No more shimmy or vibration through the wheel. Picked up some calipers at the junkyard, blew them apart, cleaned and scrubbed thoroughly and rebuilt with new OEM bits. Needed to trim the dust shield but not by much.
13WL fits under the 16" stock wheels but only just barely. No rubbing or anything though. The wheels look like this (not my truck but example of wheel design).
That is the perfect balance of height + maintaining stock.
I have the 17" 2019 Toyota 4runner factory wheels on my 1998 4runner. I just bought this vehicle 6months ago and I love it(I haven't even driven my BMW since). The first thing I did was upgrade the wheels.
Recently completed the upgrade. Nice difference - time well spent.
Thought I would share a warning to others who may run into what I ran into today.
I used OEM rotors and pads but NAPA calipers. $55.00 core on each caliper. When I went to return the cores today, they opened the boxes, pulled up some pics on the screen, took one look at the 4Runner calipers in the box and refused the cores.
I'm not faulting NAPA, as they are technically correct. I'm just annoyed with myself that I didn't consider the possibility. So now I'm likely stuck with $110 worth of cores I can't return.
I did run to the local Pick N Pull today as they have a Tundra (rare occurrence!) that might have had the calipers I needed for cores but that truck was stripped nearly bare and no calipers to be found.
