SQ.MD's Build Thread...OOH WAH AH AH AH
Hey, you guys have probably seen me comment here and there on this forum but I suppose I should create my own thread so I don’t create minor useless threads whenever I feel like showing you guys something I did (read: take inspiration from ya’lls ideas)
I drive both a 2008 Camry SE V6 and this 4runner evenly through out the week. Just FYI, my first car was a Honda Prelude which I adored
Anyway, this 97 4runner was purchased by my family in 1996 and has been great to us ever since. Only for the past 2 years have I taken interest in making it unique/stand out.
Anyway, this is the oldest photo I have on photobucket: stock except a roof rack and some additional roof lighting for my trip to Big Bend
Same time as above except this one has hella 500s (which I broke as I drove into the underground parking at the Galleria)

Forward a few years until last month (a few dents, scratches, and major paint fade later), I got the 4runner painted Shadow Mica. Before the paint job, I took the roof rack off and painted that myself and also replaced the front bumper and valence (due to major rust)
Then I purchased a bulbar and threw some lights on that (one of which was later stolen)
As I spent more time on this forum, I gained some confidence and decided to embark on the satoshi grill mod journey (here is my thread for it: Satoshi grill mod question) I also bought some Black Magics for the bull bar
So that is a brief summary of the 4runners progress through the past 15-16 years. Stay tuned!

thanks man! I already got a one inch lift waiting in my garage (99 talls with tokico trekmasters). I just gotta find someone to help me install em'. And regarding the tires, once these wear out (~2-3 months), I'm thinking about putting duratrac on my steelies (30x10.5 r 15)

nice dude! is yours the sr5 or base model? We pretty much have the same truck and you've done just about everything I've been meaning to do with mine but haven't had the time/money yet. Everything looks good! would like to see more updates as they come. Good luck with the lift and new tires!

brotha.. it's an easy do it yourself job. Invite your buddies over and wrench
BTW, if you want any opinions on the matter of tires, I highly suggest getting yourself a new wheel that's at least 16". That way you can do the Tundra Brake Upgrade later down the line, and the tires come in more sizes.
I am sure a quick peek on your local craigslist will have a bunch of 4Runner, Tundra, and/or Tacoma wheels for sale. I have a set of Tacoma wheels I'd sell you cheap, if you were here.
BEST YET, 17" FJ RIMS FOR ONLY $175!! POUNCE ON THAT! IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM, SELL THEM FOR MORE!

They would look BADASS on your 4Runner!
If not, heres some others

Looks great SQ.MD! I love the Satoshi grill. Did you get those wheels? YOu definitely need better wheels to match how good the rest of the truck looks.
Out of curiosity, what did the paint job run you?

I definitely called that person and they're at work now, so lets see what goes down. and yeh, I have a good buddy of mine who is learning to be a mechanic so he's gonna help me out during his spring break (hopefully, if he's not driving down to corpus to get wasted)

no, I personally did not do it myself. I got it done when I got the entire car painted. and yes, the valence is also that color but since its a different material than the body paneling, I think the valence color might look a tad different
