Hella Micro DE's and moisture. A simple fix.

Here's my fix and figured it might help some others out. Only things needed are a 90 and a piece of vacuum line. Well, also a drill and a zip tie. Pics should be self explanatory. Helps to keep tire spray out of the breather tube which causes the moisture. have seen the threads with the shields, but thought it was a bit overkill so decided to go this route.

Looks great - what did you use for the 90?

Your DE looks like the aftermarket OEM Hella Micro DE. Is that true? I have them and bought them to replace my stock ones so I could run a longer HID bulb in them.

I have found that these "aftermarket" ones allow moisture in them more than the stock ones. I haven't modded my breather hose but rather put a zip tie around the backward section of the 'boot'. I've completely submerged my Micro DE's without getting water in them. I believe the drain hole has a membrane in there that keeps water from getting in. If moisture is getting in there I think it's coming from somewhere else.
