Fluid Interval

So I just bought my 00 and I want to start my ownership right. I like the idea of replacing all the fluids, but how often should it be done? The last owner had the gear oil and transfer case oil changed in Oct 2009, which was about 14k ago.

I might just check to see if it is black in the gears, but for future reference how often do you guys change them? Also are there any other fluids that should be changed? Transmission, brake or radiator?

Yep, everything you just listed. If it was mine, I'd do the trans fluid, brake fluid and coolant. Every 30k-35k miles I do my trans and coolant. Brake fluid I usually do every 50K. For the diff's and t-case, every 50k is a very safe interval.

Good advice, the only thing I'd add is to go 30k on the diffs/t-case if you're using dino oils... 50k would be fine with a good synthetic. I like the redline fluids for synthetics... they publish every thing you would want to know in terms of specs on their fluids, and probably some stuff you've never even thought of asking about. Figure twice the price, but for twice the maintenance interval and better lubrication.

Ok sweet. I noticed the brakes were a little soft so that might help. I plan on doing the TBU when they need to be replaced. The rest I can do one of these weekends and I'm going to do the trans cooler so I will change the coolant then. Thanks.

Was reading in the manual and they had different weights for the front/rear diffs. Front and transfer were 75/90 and rear was 80/90 or something like that. What are you guys using?

I am using 75/90 Severe Gear Amsoil for front/rear and transfer.
Supposed to go up to 100K plus but I will change somewhere between 50-75K.

I just got through changing all my fluids which I do the first week on every car we buy.

The transmission fluid is 100% synthetic Amsoil will let that go for 50K.

Engine oil is 5W30 Amsoil, I change that once a year and I doubt I will put more than 6000-8000 miles on it max.

Radiator coolant about every 3 years flush and replace and use only distilled water with it.
