Unhappy Marker lights not working HELP

So I just bought a 1998 T4R SR5 4x4. When I first got it, the tail lights were still in working condition. I just put in a aftermarket Kenwood deck, subwoofers and a 1000w amp. I think this plays a great role in this whole problem because when I was installing it I accidently touched the Ground connection with the plus for a second. After I put eveything back to gether I noticed that my tail LIGHTS(not the brakes), the light behind the cluster and under the gear shifter is not lighting up, making it impossible to drive at night. So I started digging through the fuse box, I noticed that the Tail fuse keeps burning out instantly when I replace it, I checked the wires that run to the back and they are not short circuting on anything, what could it be? and NOW THE RR BRAKE LIGHT DOESN"T WORK HELP PLEASE

Sounds to me like something that you did caused a short. If they left the factory radio connectors that is a good thing. just disconnect them and see if it helps. aftermarket stuff usually is the cause of all kinds of problems when it is done incorrectly.

I'm going to venture to say you melted that wire when you grounded it and thats whats causing your short. Pull the radio back out and start checking all the wiring. For future reference, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY WHEN WORKING WITH ELECTRICAL!

Check the fuse box under the hood. The "tail" fuse will be blown.

The moral of the story is to disconnect the negative abttery terminal before you do any electrical work....

I did that once. Years back when I was first installing a radio. I finally finished, sealed everything back up and as I was sliding the unit back it, it crimped a power wire, stripping it and grounding it out between 2 metal surfaces. No good.
