I bought a fifth rim cheap on E-Bay and did that first and put a new M/S2 on when I was done. Prep was just with Red Scotch-Brite pads with a little help from a Palm Sander where it was chewed up. The color is the same HWP102 that Prospectator used--I got it from NAPA.
Then acid-etch primer (because the sander took me to bare metal), followed by sandable primer, then the Graphite, then clear color. All Duplicolor and a few coats of each as per label. The dry times are short, all that painting can be done in like one 2-hour session. I just set the rim on a tall stool covered by a garbage bag near where I was doing something else, like sunbathing or fixing a lawn mower. I set a cooking timer to remind myself to go back and spray.
I did pull the wheel weights since they had to be rebalanced anyway. One tip is wait a good ten days before you try to touch anything up--including boo-boos from mounting/balancing. It all runs if you try to do it sooner.
The first new one became the spare, then went on the front with the second one. The third one then became the spare, then later went on the back with the fourth one. I may buy a fifth tire and go to a five-tire rotation now that I have five rims. I went slow so for a few months I had different color rims between front and back.

That definitely sounds do-able. I really don't want to have to take off the tires though. Perhaps I will just replace them when the tires go...

You don't have to take the tires off....just use a deck of cards to keep from overspraying on your tire.

I agree. I just did it that way because I had to do my tires anyway and it broke my heart to put new Michelin's on those scuzzy rims.

Theres a guy that comes in to my work all the time, and he painted his steelies black, and the centercaps silver. His is salsa red pearl or whatever it's called, and it looks really really good with the black and silver steelies.
Ill try and get a picture next time I see him...

Which ones? He's got two different sets of rims in those pics?

Probably not what you are looking for, but I'll post mine anyway.
I painted the outer ring area of my Eagle Alloys. Went from this:
To this:
The bronze color is actually Rustoleum metallic antique brass. I also painted the beadlock bolts and center caps Rustoleum semi-gloss black.
I really like the way they came out.

No this is exactly what I'm looking for....just a picture gallery of different types of wheels and wheel paints to spark some ideas.
I see you matched your front emblem......did you paint the rest of your decals? I assume you probably did.

Yes, all my emblems are painted the same bronze color, so everything matches. Thanks.
