225/75/15 Tire Recommendations

Time to replace tires on my 97 SR5 2WD. Need recommendations from you folks still running 15" passenger or crossover/SUV tires. I purchased General Grabbers last time and liked them. Unfortunately they have been discontinued in this size. My Toyota dealer is trying to put me on Goodrich Long Trail T/A Touring. Didn't like the reviews I found on line from previous owners of this brand. I want long tread life and a smooth and quiet ride (I know...who doesn't). My T4R has close to 200K and stays on the highway. I travel 200 miles each week on the interstate (AL & GA) and my only other concern is wet traction.

That seems like a really small tire!

Yeah I know but that is the stock wheel and tire that came with this one. I've had it for a while now and it seems there aren't too many of this vintage that still run this wheel size. Guess that is why my favorite tires keep getting discontinued.

All highway driving in that size, I'd probably go with the Toyo Open Country HT: OPEN COUNTRY H/T | Toyo Tires

FWIW, I'm running that tire in the LT 265/75R16 load range C size. I live where we get a lot of snow in the winter, and have had no trouble at all in some deep snow. But I have 4wd too. We've had a lot of rain this spring, and they have done very well on wet roads.

They are very quiet, ride smooth, and should last a long time, based on what other people with them have said.
