ABS control Module help!
OK, all lights came on and speedo quit, brake light, ABS, Engine and VRS....all on. Took to my mechanice and he said it was the ABS control Module that the toyota sells as a package with master etc...for $1400. He found a used one for $400. Does this sound reasonable or is there a better way to go??
TIA!

Buy it from ebay and install it your self.
He even has a best offer on this item, I would offer $75 and see what he counter offers.
The ecm mounts under the steering column- unplug and re plug.

No, its not. The newer model have Trac control and the older ones don't.
I have one for a 96 4runner, I'll give it to you for $30. Just verify your part number to make sure it will work.

Thanks Singtoe! You saved me $300 or more! I called the dealer with the VIN to make sure it was the correct one since it depends on options on your vehicle. It matched up and took me 10 min to install. If you do this if like mine you have to drive it around for 10 or more miles before the speedo works correctly and all the warning lights go out. It has to calabrate itself. They were very resposive to my needs and had the best price anywhere including the overnight shipping I paid!

Ain't no thang young blood
I am glad to help, I use E-bay often to buy expensive stuff cheaply. I bought my E-locker ECU for $20 shipped, because the seller had it listed as 4x4 control and it was on there for many months.

98 module fit 99?
A mechanic I took my 99 4runner to said my brake problem is in the abs module and I'm wondering if one I find in a junkyard off of a 98 4runner will work on my 99...
anyone know the compatibility of these years?

the ABS on 96-00 trucks should be the same.
the ACTUATOR ASSY is located in the engine bay 4405035030 toyota part.
you should be able to find one in pick n pull pretty cheap I would think.

My 01 is having the same problem. Did this end up working for you long term? And which specific module was it?
