VSC Trac/off light - and check engine

Hey guys
I have a 2001 SR5 with 71,000 miles - bought
it a few months ago.

Was running great until this morning - a lot of rain..
drove over a pretty large area of water a few minutes
later the VSC TRAC and OFF button both came on! as well
as the check engine light. I ran the codes at Autozone and got
P0446 and P0441 (EVAP Emission control vent circuit malfuction)?

No idea what this means. Before I take it to the dealer I want
to check with you guys to see what I should do?

Thanks in advance

"Just in case anyone was following this thread, I went to my appointment at the dealer today and it turns out the problem was along the lines of what MTL suggested. The VSV valve was stuck open. Replacement part $44, labor $150. "

check your gas cap if its on properly. then pull the efi fuse or
disconnect the battery, this will clear your codes. then use the vehicle. if the light comes back on bring it to the dealer.

he already pulled a code... which can then be diagnosed.

lee-
thanks!
why is the labor so high? I went and looked under the
hood - the VSV valve seems like its right there??

Also I called my local stealer and they want $75 for the valve and $186 to replace it??? Am I missing something.

i was going to pull the valve - check all the hoses to make sure they are good and replace the valve - reset the codes and see if still triggers. If so - the canister might need to be replaced - or I read here that it could be as simple as having topped off the gas tank.

any suggestions? how to replace?

thanks!
