M3 Mirrors

I might get flamed for this but oh well...

Has anyone considered putting the M3 mirrors on a 3rd gen 4runner? I think it would be very unique and different to see an SUV mixed with a sport car type of style.

Now obviously I'm not going to find M3 mirrors that are a direct fit for a 4runner, but say if I were to buy a pair that were made for a Camry or a different car, does anyone have any idea if it would fit? I would probably have it done professionally, so I'm guessing they could probably do any custom work.

What do you guys think about M3 mirrors? It's probably not a popular idea around here, but I'm not a big off-roading guy so no point in wasting money on lifts or whatever, plus these mirrors go for pretty cheap on ebay.

BAD idea.

not cause its not offroad-friendly or whatever, but because thats truely dangerous.

m3 mirrors are meant for the small and curvy m3. the sedans that use them are dangerous enough (i see a lot of accords with them), do NOT throw them on a 4runner... that could seriously be asking for trouble.

you will have severe blindspots.

Speaking of adding M3 parts, did anyone else see that episode of PMR where they stuck the M3 front end, hood, and rear valance on an old Ford Escort? I thought it ended up looking pretty good

Yeah, I figured blind spots would be bad, but the thing is, I still turn my head to check to see if a car is in the other lane. And I even have the convex mirrors, but I do it anyway, it's just a natural habit. The only time I don't do that is if I know for a fact that there's no cars in the other lane, I pay very close attention to where other cars are around me.

Gatorgreg - Yeah I saw that, pretty freakin' sweet looking. It's a shame they wasted it on an Escort.
