no offense singtoe. . . thats kind of obvious. looking for more of a procedural approach to this one. as in . ..
does all grease need to be cleaned from inside diff tube to prevent leakage? (so seal wont slip inside the diff tube)
do any special things need to be done as far as the actual installation goes. . .

Not to offer offense but it is what it is.

Singtoe. Thanks so much for that info. I definitely looked over the specs shown there.

Cordrjay1,
Have you resolved this issue yet? I am having the same problem with my passenger side front diff/CV seal on my 98 limited. Started leaking after replacing the CV axle with a Napa Auto rebuilt unit.
I've replaced the seal 2 times, being very careful to adhere to the correct 5.5mm depth. Replaced it last night, filled diff to bottom of fill port on flat ground and it still leaking today.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

yeah its been resolved.i very, very carefully tapped it in with the extension tube from my shop vac which fit perfect around the inner flexible lip. i then coated outer portion w some grease and drove in. make sure the dust shield on the cv is not bent. and pay attention to not let it fall on the seal after you have placed the shaft in the diff just prior to knocking it in. . . shoot me a pm and ill give you my phone # if you have other issues.
