Changing factory radio color

Has anyone ever taken the factory radio apart and changed the color of it? I've done it on a Neon, like this....

flip up the front panel

remove the connectors

remove the screws

don't loose one of the inner parts

pay attention the polarisation!!!

Just wondering if anyone had done it yet. I changed the dash lights in my sisters rig to blue LED's but she has the factory radio, which is still green. I'd switch to an aftermarket HU, but the previous owner had a really really nice sound system professionally installed in the truck, using the OEM stereo. So I'd kind of like to leave the factory stereo in play and just change the color to blue to match the rest of the interior lights. .

Changing factory radio color

it is possible, just had it apart and it is similar construction less the flip up. There are roughly 30 SMD's but they are tiny, maybe 1/3 the size of what was seen in your Neon pictures. Will lo into it further as Iv'e just finished the HVAC conversion to blue background with white accents.
