Ordered up 2 clear Lens for the rear plate light so i thought i'd change out the bulbs.. to LED.... The place i used to get LEDS from for the inside seemed to disappear. I guess i need another source.
Thanks.

I had LEDs for the license plate holder but decided to go back to standard bulbs after someone let me know the LEDs were not working right. I thanked the officer for the heads up and switched back. They would either not light up or flicker. I put standard bulbs back in and they work like they are supposed to.
Yes - I did take them out and flip them around to make sure they were seated the right way and polarity was correct. I saw some people comment about that on a few other LED bulb threads.

In fact, it's rarely the LED itself that fails. What is common is the bases in cheapo Chinese LEDs are off-spec and don't fit tightly or the cheap, super thin contact wires used in those same LEDs corrode and break. Buy premium LEDs for car use or you will go nuts. I have superleds in my plate for five years now and no issues.

Superbrightleds.com you mean these are what you run? 5 years is pretty good record
I dont like buying cheap Chinese products... I mean... it's everywhere.. but when i can i try to get the best quality that i can. I dont mind spending a little more for quality.
Thanks for the information.

I feel like I have been through almost every set of LEDs available on my cars and they all flicker or start burning out within a 6 months or less. When that happens, I switch to another brand to see if it lasts any longer.
I recently tried Yorkin LEDs found on Amazon. Despite all of the raving reviews I read on Amazon, mine started flickering after 4 months. I replaced them with another set since I bought a 10 pack, and those started flickering too. Stay away from them. They're just Chinese non-name LEDs.
I now have Philips LEDs in my rear license plate for about 2 months, and so far, they're working just fine. All I want is 2 years of no fuss. If these make it to two years, I will buy another set.
They have a crisper white and are significantly brighter than I thought. I'll take a pic tomorrow evening and post it here.
Feeling confident, though, that these might be the ones! (knock on wood)

I did this a couple weeks back, using these:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Apparently the same bulb is used quite a bit in the dash area, so a 20 pack can come in handy...
Exterior-wise, I'm completely LED - minus the headlights and fogs.
For hyper-flash on the turn signals, I replaced the OEM relay with this one:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The ABS light was on, and that was easily addressed with a 6 Ohm resistor on the 3rd brake light:

+1 for superbrightleds.com
I also have LEDs in my license plate lamps, and they are hella bright as opposed to stock incandescent/yellow bulbs.
I kinda want to throw blue LEDs back there but I don't think it's a good fit with my color paint or plates, and amber would probably just look like stock.

I used the primo stuff in the places I don't want to have to open, like the gauge cluster, etc. and the cheapo stuff in some of the easier to reach places.
Truth be known, some of the cheapo stuff lasts and some doesn't

LED's definitely look good in the rear plate lights, I love mine. But everyone is right about the cheap stuff, I've gone through like 3 sets of LED plate lights. They all start flickering after like 6 months or so it seems.
I think just enough moisture gets to them that they act up so going for a quality set might be worth it

I got these ones off of Amazon (CANADA):
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00K85CATG/
I've had them for almost 3 years now, no flickering and haven't needed to replace them yet either.
When I changed them from the stock ones, though, the housings needed a major cleaning and the screws for the lenses were completely rusted. So I got everything cleaned up, put new screws in and made sure the lenses seated properly for a good seal.

I have LEDs in my plate that I got as extras from the guy I got the 30w LED reverse lights from. He threw a hand full of smalls in and they were for dome and plate etc. been in half a year at least.
