Question bigger fuses anythign to worry about?

i wish i could post pictures of my BEAST. sooo many mods.

none the less, ive added two 100w 4 inch flood lights on my rear bumper and wired to come on when the reverse lights come on, just to light up the rear of the vehicle. obviously too much voltage draw and it blew the stock 10amp gauge fuse. i put a 15 amp in its place so it doesnt blow again. sureley there shouldnt be a danger using a larger amp rated fuse that required right?

I would reccomend against doing what you have done. You will probably never have any issue since bulb failure causing fuses to blow is rare, but still. You are now pulling more current through the factory wiring than it is designed to safely deal with.

You should wire the 100w lights on their own fuse. Do this by using a relay that is triggered by the factory reversing light. Power from the reversing lights will open the relay and allow the new lights to draw current on thier own wiring with thier own fuse.

You'll probably be OK, but the safe way of doing this would be to run a relay with a thicker gauge wire. Like the previous poster said, the actuating current from the reverse lights would engage the relay, which would turn on your lights.

If you don't know what/how a relay works, just do a quick google search, They are pretty simple and very cool little electro-mechanical device

I would agree with the above comments.
I will add, have you looked at the stock wiring? I'm not sure how any lighting wire doesn't burn up with the stock lights. Everything looks way under rated.

I definitely would NOT do what you are doing. As already said, run a proper size wire from an additional fuse back to them. Have the stock lights trigger a relay to switch them on/off.

200 watts is ~17 amps.
