starter contacts

hey guys and gals..

for the past 2 weeks, I've been having some troubles with my rig starting up..

I'm thinking about giving the starter contacts a try..

The battery was replaced last year (Die Hard)

spark plugs and wires were changed last year..

I called a few places around town and none seems to have it except one.

Carquest none however, they have an brand new Denso starter for $190 with exchange. Napa didn't have any..

I did tried the dealer and they have the starter contacts for $16 dollars. Thinking about going over there today and pick it up..

I'm going to repair it on Sunday. is there anything else I should look out for?

I'm going to use this as an reference..

(Another) Starter Contacts Removal Thread!

Is there any other threads similar to this one?

thanks.

That's the thread I used when I replaced mine about a month ago. It was a lot of help for sure. I originally took the contacts out with the starter still in the truck. I thought it was a PITA workin on it still in the truck. CoMarc who did that write-up has a 5 speed and didn't have to deal with tranny lines. When I was tryin to put it back in, I turned it in such a way the starter came right out and was real easy to put back in.

Only cost me $15 and a run into town.

Good luck.
