XGauges for ISO & VPW Vehicles : Linear Logic : Home of the ScanGauge

That link will give you codes for O2 sensor readings. I haven't tried them but some of those codes are trial and error

I've also got a 20 minute drive tomorrow so I'll see how it works, then maybe start plunting in some of the other codes.

So after 10 minutes of warm up time this morning the gauge showed around 10 and after 10 minutes of driving in the city it had worked it's way up to 12, so I thought I'm on the right track but as the highway run started it worked it's way back down to 9 ish.

Tonight I'll try some of the codes on the scangauge web site and see what happens, also it is v e r y slow to react even being a narrow band(?).

Started the truck this morning and gauge read 5.65. Let it warm up and after 30 miles on the freeway I got to 10.2. Then another 10 miles and I was at 11.7 pretty steady. Even with excelleration on small hills out heald steady unless I really got on it. Then I was getting anywhere from 12.0 - 14.1

So here's my results,
entered in all the scan gauge codes for the air to fuel as per the website(tried all 17), and they all worked. But idling in my driveway, engine all warm and toasty

all my readings were 9.3 - 9.4. If this is true no wonder I'm only getting 200 miles per tank. Driving on the highway its low too, like in the 9's and 10's. Way way too rich, should be around the 14.7.

I've got no engine codes, maf is clean. Only thing I can think of is the O2 sensor, truck has just shy of 23,000 miles so I wouldn't think that's it but maybe.

Somewhere I've got a old lm1 wideband so maybe I'll hook it up and see whats up before I drop a couple hundred on a sensor.

What coolant temperatures is everyone with a scangauge reading and at what outdoor temp?

I'm as high as 202 yesterday in 80 degree weather in st Louis. What is too high?

Here's a dedicated thread on engine temp.

On my scangauge II I've been getting in the range of 180-205 degrees F on my engine coolant reading.

Tranny temp I can average around 170F on normal conditions. Climbing up steep hills the highest I've hit on the tranny was 242F with heavy camping gear and bikes. I've got a TRD tranny cooler on the way that I'll be installing that should help keep things cool.

All of this with an outside temp ranging between 60-75F. We are a bit spoiled with the mediterranean weather here in the most western part of California

Let me say, I love my Scangauge!!! I do wish it had sound alert warnings and distance to empty (DTE) like I have on my ultragauge EM. Unfortunately my ultragauge can't read tranny, so I may just sell it to someone with an older T4R model that can't report tranny temps.

Thanks for the link, that's a help. I tried search for engine temp and came up empty.

Anyone know if we can get oil pressure on SGII? (Does the 2000 T4R w. 3.4L have a pressure transducer already installed)

Or do I need to buy a sensor and install it? (install my own pressure transducer since our trucks don't have one)

What about temp? Guessing we don't have that either?

EDIT: Nevermind... found the info. No oil pressure.

Anyone ever have a need for it? Or does it just not matter much with this engine?

You shouldn't need to worry about oil pressure with the 5VZ-FE. Either you have it....or you don't. And if you don't, the warning light will come on.
