The clean retail NADA on that vehicle is $15,250. $19,995 is way too much no matter how little miles, etc. I am sure they will sell it to someone but I would pass just based on the price.

If ur set on spending that kinda money on a 4r I'll sell u mine. However, its not for sale Lol. However, Scott @ addicted offroad would be my choice if I was to spend that kinda coin. I'd trust local advise on the sellers , coming from Hepar that's golden. He helped me recently very trustworthy.

She wants toyota due to the reliability, doesn't like the new 4runner because it is significantly bigger and has worse visability. She doesn't like the visibility on the FJ either. It's looking like I will end up with a new FJ for daily/long trips and she will have the 3rd gen for in town driving.

I think that's a good idea. If you ever come across anything else out here, I'd be happy to take a look.

and odbII reader and the right software on it, it's actually easier then what it used to be because of the computer, you just hook up to the ecu and type in whatever number you want as opposed to having to manually roll the number back to something favorable, that said though i wouldn't let something like some minor rust spots being painted over as a sign the seller is lying about mileage as these trucks are starting to get old and can very easily be a low mile truck with a bit of rust from just sitting in the drive way for 10+ years.
i've come across deals like that before as well, where it was some old handicapped person who only drove 10 miles a moth back and forth between wallmart and the house, so it was a 15 year old truck with less then 30k on it, it can happen but usually not the case with dealers and most certainly not the case with these 405 guys....

you just reprogram it or clear it and put in the milage you want. dealers can do this if say they are replacing the damaged or broken cluster with a new one, the new one would say 000000, but if the car had 97325 miles on it they would need to correct the 000000 to 97325, they simply hook it up to a computer and using the softwear simply plug in the mileage.

Can you imagine how much OEM part prices will be when the buyer actually has to start replacing the water pump, timing belt, etc?
Find one with higher miles for a much lower price, or if you aren't married to buying a 3rd generation, look at the 4th gen.

I just like how they describe a barn full of 1997 Dodge Neon's as being the ultimate find.
