Conti ExtremeWinterContact tires

Has anyone tried Continental ExtremeWinterContact tires? If yes, how are they in:

1. Snow
2. Ice
3. Dry
4. Wet
5. Handling/cornering
6. Any other feedback

Thanks
Stan

Hi

I used a set of these on a 2000 Ml320 for the winter last year. (just got the t4r last month) The vehicle drove like a dream. Now, I live in Edmonton Alberta, and we had almost a foot of new snow in one day. I had to wipe snow off my ML just to make sure it was mine! The tires along with the AWD system on the ML had no trouble with the snow. I don't remember them being to loud... and they seemed to handle all conditions the same. They seemed not to wear very much, but once the snow on the roads had melted I put summers back on the ML. I bought them used, on rims so I don;t know how much they cost but I have always been a fan of michelin's (for the cars I have owned)
Hope that ramble helps!

Im just saying I am partial to the Michelin's... I have used 3 or 4 different michelin winters on different RWD mercedes and all have been very impressive with grip, wear, price and feel. I have a 07 CLK 550 with 380HP and 390 Ft/t and with the michelin's you can still drive like a normal person!

Have you tried the micheline x-ice xi2. If yes, what are the pros and cons.

I'm either going to get the conti extremewintercontacts or michelin x-ice xi2.

Originally i wanted to get the General Altimax Arctic, but all sold out in our area.

Actually I have. on a 98 c230 RWD... Probably the best of all the ones I ever used... but also the first. I have nothing negative to say about them.
