Snow Chains/Tire Chains

Hey Guys,

I live in New England and we're we get some good snow storms but I was thinking of buying some snow chains just to keep them in my 4R in case I ever slide off the road and get stuck. I went skiing last year and slid off the road and got stuck for about 20 minutes. I ended up getting myself out without the help of anybody but I was thinking of keeping a set just in case.

I dont want them for driving to work or to the store or anything so I don't want them on for long periods of time... Just to temporarily put them on and off if needed.

Any brands you all recommend or have used that you really like?

Thanks for any help!

I live in New England also (NH)....unless you go to the mountains a lot and take some back roads...the chains are NOT needed. There's ALWAYS the chance of sliding off the road...even with 4wd...but it's rare if you drive carefully and have decent AT or Snow tires.

The other problem with chains is...they are difficult to put on..and many times completely useless if you've already slid off the road.

i prefer Pewag chains and cables, cables work a lot better and easier take on and off, ive done it so many times its no big deal..put em on before you leave the ski lot or before you go,..we have a lot of mandatory chain days in the winter..
