Need help deciding what color to buy, black or blue?

I went shopping for my 05 SE V8 Runner and the dealer has a black in stock with everyting I want on it. I had always wanted the blue (aka stratosphere mica) but I had boughten a set of tubular step bars and I am unsure how they will look on the blue as they are a matte grey with black steps. But I think they would look nice on the black. But the downfall of black is that it shows ALL dirt known to man. What color should I buy, black or blue? I would like to hear from people that have black or the blue and what they think about it. Thanks. I am going to the dealer tomorow to make the deal.

Talking Compromise...

Go with Galactic Gray It looks blue in some lights and the running boards would also go good with it. It shows dirt but not as much as black. I am also a little partial.

The one dealer that I went to did have the Galactic Gray but that did nothing for me. I think it almost has a purply tint to it and it didn't impress me. I will admit, the black does look VERY nice when it is clean, but that would mean that I clean it almost weekly. Decisions...decisions...

I have the Strat Blue and its grown on me a lot. It wasn't my first choice (silver), but I have since received many compliments on the blue and I like it a lot. In the shade, the blue plays an eye trick on you and looks black with deep blue highlights. At night, its also very close to black.

I have an 03 silver that I am trading in. When I bought mine it was the only color that I could get. The dealer has the black in stock but the blue will need to be found somewhere else and brought in. If I can get a better price on the black then I will most likely get that one. I am not comfortable having them get another Runner for me and then what if the steering has that vibration poblem or something. At least I have test driven this one and I know what I am getting.

I'm sure you're allowed to test drive the vehicle before you took ownership.

I am allowed to test drive but since I had them get it from another dealer especially I am pretty much locked into it. They told me that if there was something that I didn't think worked right that they would surely fix it until I was happy with it. But I have heard this all before and just contemplating if it is worth the risk.

I may be slightly biased. but blue wasn't my first either, but throw on some tint and de-badge it.

Man it is the best color hands down.. With the exception of the new red

IMO, strat. blue is great. (In case you haven't noticed, my opnion, like everyone else's, matches our cars ). FYI, the blue isn't too much better than the black in terms of dirt being readily apparent. However, I purchased a "california duster" today, and it works real well between washes. It is a more unique color than black, and much more unique than silver. Good luck.

Funny, Strat Mica wasn't my first choice either, I walked in the dealership expecting to buy a silver, but it had sold the day before. The only other V8 SR5 they had was in Mica.

That said, I do love the color. Only thing that bugs me is that it shows scratches more than a silver one would.

Stratosphere Mica!!!

It WAS my first choice and I walked away from a good deal on a black and Galactic Gray but I was close to getting the Gray. My favorite color is blue and I've never had a blue car so I thought this is the time to get blue and I didn't budge. I'm happy I got it and not another color

I live in Lubbock TX, and it is seriously the most dusty place you can imagine. I have black, very happy with it. It really does look the best when its clean, just spend a little times once every 2 weeks and clean it.

I've got silver. Wanted the strat blue but it wasn't available in my region at the time. Get the blue one!
