The product is solid. It is super tough and withstands rocks pelting it at highway speeds. As mentioned before you can see every imperfection of my grind job. I'm not unhappy with the result as it's my first plate bumper but if I took more time it could have been a bit better.

Thats how thick 50 bucks aluminium sheet cut to fit looks like. Not a rock crawling armor by any means but a great protection from mud rushing in to a rad and condenser during mud bogging

I think it was around 5-6 mm. It took me about 3 hours to make it with disk grinder.

Added auxiliary reverse lighting, I feel like I can never see back there even with upgraded LED’s. This should work.

Generic ones I bought from a guy on TW, they seem pretty bright and I got a good deal. I figure I’ll likely smash them on a trail so no need to get expensive ones until I try it out.

I replaced both of my front CV axles today. Of course one side was easy, the other side was a pain, but it was very straightforward.
What I didn't read was that my front diff would empty itself. So I guess I'm changing the front diff fluid tomorrow. On to searching for DIY's. (I've always had an indy shop do it. It only has 30k / 3 years on it).

It's a bit late now, but always make sure you can remove the top fill plug before pulling the bottom plug.

This is very important. Also the diff job is very easy, takes about 30 minutes

Biggest recommendation for the front diff is to make sure you can get the fill plug out before you pull the drain plug.
Once the plugs are out it's a 5 minute job with a hand pump.
And for the CVs, I always just jack the truck up to the point where it's at a decent angle. That way fluid doesn't spill out.

took my 4runner an independent mechanic we trust. Oil pump is gone. Is a $1.8K repair bill reasonable if it were to include a timing chain kit and valve cover gaskets?

Ouch. Do they tell you what all needs to be removed to replace the oil pump? I know oil pan removal is a pretty large job.
Also, any idea what caused the failure? This is the first I've heard of it happening on a 4th gen.
