Difference between OME shocks and Bilstein Shocks?

Noticed that they're around the same price. What's the difference besides color?

Once again, I'm asking for opinions not facts.

That's not what your post seemed to be asking since you said the color is different (which is fact)

If you want opinions on ride quality then try searching the forums for reviews of the products.

Basically what I'm saying is put in some work and research these easy questions yourself and if you can't find anything then start asking people specific questions.

Do you honestly think the web-site is going to give you FACTS.

Asking opinion is probably a lot more helpful then going to the products web-site to get reliable information they can use.

Personally I've never used OME shocks...I currently have the Bilstein shocks on my 4runner. And I've had Bilstein shocks before on other vehicles. They are excellent shocks that give a good ride for years and years. I currently have about 90k miles on them...Last time I owned them I sold the truck with over 300k miles on the truck and over 200k miles on the Bilstein shocks..they were still good.

Ok dude, I've bit my tongue for awhile........but QUIT STARTING NEW F@CKING THREADS FOR EVERYTHING!!!! You have 300 posts here and have started 112 threads!!! 112!!!!! Learn to search, you contribute zero and expect people to answer all your goddamn questions for you! I have over twice the posts and a quarter of the threads......don't you see that as an issue? I do! I search and contribute when needed. Sorry if I'm coming off like a d!ck but goddamn man, everyday I get on here your dumbass threads are cluttering everything up.

Www.google.com use it!

I've been wondering the same thing actualy. (sorry to take away for
The rant above) but the OME springs are cheaper than 5100's so I was wondering if there was a difference as well.

I do agree though. Help others of you can and try posting threads as little as possible. PM some guys or call toytec if you want more help.

Before I have started every single thread I have made a search, and if I couldn't find the exact answer I started a thread. Cut me some slack I'm 17 and I didn't know anything until I made those threads. Once my car is lifted and done I won't make a single thread. And look at this thread, people are wondering the same thing. I'm not the only one out here that has questions god damn.

Look man, I'm sorry I came off as a d!ck above. But I've seen other members replies on here multiple times stating you need to search. I get you have questions but a lot of them aren't thread worthy.

And when you get it lifted that's the time to make threads showing off the cool new look of your truck.

All the options you have stated are good ones, so pick one an move on. Who cares what peoples opinions are and what they think.....it's your truck. Do what makes YOU happy. Not everyone likes my truck I'm sure but I don't care because I like it. Just please try to keep the unnecessary threads to a minimum. Hell you can pm me for questions since I have the lift you're looking at.

Deeds,

What's your question? 5100's are shocks, ome are spring but the ome nitrochargers are shocks.

So what is the performance or life span difference in the OME shocks? And the OME nitrogen vs the 5100, is there much difference? I know the 5100 is a proven off road shock but is there much of a difference between the 5100 and OME nitrogen? Sorry about the vague questions. I will probably PM you with more specific questions.

Reliability should be the same for both - shocks are supposed to be replaced every 50K miles or so. The main difference of feel would be due the valving between the two. I will assume the OME will tailor their valving for their springs and more towards off-roading.

Here's a link for OME's "benefits" Old Man Emu shocks at the lowest prices

I don't think there is too much info out there comparing the two shocks. This has come up a couple times and I haven't seen a ton of great information.

I think it's time for a comparison
