Anyone have pictures of early T4r with bumper off?

Hey everyone -
I have been poking around looking for pictures of what the structure behind the bumper looks like on the 2003+ 4Runner. When I search I am not finding what I am looking for.

Thanks!

I didn't take any pictures but just had mine off. I'll guess the "structure" you're asking about is the two horizontal square bars about 2" square that go from mount to mount. I have that part sitting at a friends and could get a pic if it would help.

What exactly do you want a picture of? With the bumper cover off or the actual bumper off

I recently installed a shrockworks bumper on my rig, I managed to snap a picture of the bumper support before I took it off.

The actual bumper bar is held on by 4 14mm (Socket size not bolt size) bolts to two support structures, which in turn are held on by 6 14mm nuts each.

Any particular reason you need this info?

Thanks guys! Those all work great.

I was thinking of welding some D-rings to the bumper structure and then cut through the bumper to push those through. then hang some recovery shackles.

I'll have to draw up some pictures and post later today. I am not sure if my explanation makes any sense.

Here is a picture of the location I was thinking of having the d-rings with shackles. I am thinking this is the poor man's solution to creating recovery points up front without shelling out all the cash for an expensive aftermarket bumper.
Thoughts?

You're better off with just sticking to the factory recovery points at the end of the frame. That steel bumper behind the cover is very thin metal and won't support the stress during recovery. Also the location you're looking at looks pretty close to the end, if not beyond the end of the steel bumper. You could also replace the factory steel bumper with a more robust piece of steel if you had the material source and fab skills.

Better yet, for $279 why not just get this CBI Front Receiver Hitch and put a recovery hitch on it.
