Custom Exhaust

I had an chrome exhaust tip added today as a temporary fix until I can afford an exhaust. I know Borla and Magnaflow offer dual exhaust but I really do not like the way the tailpipe comes out on the side. I was wondering if anyone did any custom modifications to their exhaust. I like the single exhaust look with a larger chrome tip. From what I hear, custom exhausts are cheaper than the Borla system? Any suggestions?

Check out local muffler/exhaust shops or fab shops; they can bend piping and add whatever muffler you want with the tip you want.

I second the muffler shop recommendation. I wanted a more aggressive exhaust note but didn't want a drone or obnoxiously loud. I went with the magnaflow #12256. I haul the dog around in the back and usually have the back window down. The stock exhaust dump location caused fumes to come inside the cabin. It's also a good location to get crushed by rocks when off-roading. I had the muffler shop install a 12256 and cut the exhaust pipe right after the axle for $175 out the door.

The sound is perfect, no drone, no fumes in the cabin and you definitely know its a V8 when you step on the gas.

That's awesome! It looks great and sounds even better. $175 is a heck of lot better than $800. Thanks for the info. I will stop by my local muffler shop.

I'm glad I got the Borla and I wouldn't have done anything different.
